The event provided PM Modi an opportunity to engage with prominent figures from the Christian community, reinforcing his commitment to inclusivity and fostering stronger relationships between the government and various religious groups.

The Christmas holiday is deeply meaningful for Christians around the world, as it celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, believed by Christians to be the Son of God. His life and teachings, centered around love, sacrifice, and compassion, have had a profound impact on humanity. The season is also a time for Christians to remember the sacrifices made by Jesus, including his crucifixion and resurrection.

Christmas traditions such as carol singing and prayer services serve as a reminder of these spiritual events, bringing communities together to reflect on the message of hope, love, and peace that Jesus' birth represents.

George Kurian, a key BJP leader from Kerala, hosted the event. Kurian, who was appointed as a Union Minister in June 2024, has been an active political figure since joining the BJP in 1980. He has also served in various significant roles, including Vice-Chairman of the National Minorities Commission in 2017. His ministerial position is seen as an effort to strengthen ties with the Christian community.

This celebration also underscores the significance of Christmas as a cultural and religious occasion, offering a chance for all to come together and reflect on the universal values of love, peace, and compassion.
