Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. This year's event emphasizes the significant impact of yoga on young minds and bodies, aiming to bring thousands together to promote health and wellness worldwide. During the celebration, Prime Minister Modi addressed the attendees and participated in the Common Yoga Protocol session. He underscored the importance of yoga in fostering physical, mental, and spiritual growth, stating, "The world is looking at yoga as a power for global good." Simultaneously, the Ministry of Culture marked International Yoga Day at the historic Purana Quila in Delhi. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat led a celebration at the Sun Dial Lawns, Qutab Minar, to commemorate the occasion. President Droupadi Murmu also joined the celebrations, performing yoga with officials of the President’s Secretariat at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She highlighted yoga as India's unique gift to humanity, particularly relevant in addressing rising lifestyle-related health issues. "Greetings to the entire global community, especially the fellow citizens of India on International Yoga Day! Yoga is India’s unique gift to humanity. In view of rising lifestyle-related problems, yoga has become far more important today. Yoga is a way to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Let us resolve to adopt yoga as an integral part of our daily lives," said President Murmu. The 10th International Day of Yoga celebration focuses on the significant benefits of yoga for young minds and bodies, aiming to bring thousands together in practice and promote global health and wellness. This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," underscores yoga's dual role in enhancing both personal and community well-being, encouraging grassroots participation and the expansion of yoga in rural areas.
