Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit Gujarat for the third time this month which is his home state where assembly elections will be held soon- where he will launch various projects including the Rs. 615-crore 'roll-on, roll-off (Ro-Ro)' ferry service. The 31-km service, described by PM Modi as his "dream project" earlier this week, will run between Ghogha in Bhavnagar district and Dahej in Bharuch in the Gulf of Cambay and will to cut down travel time between the two towns from "seven or eight hours to just over an hour". The Prime Minister, who will take the ferry on its inaugural journey, will also address a gathering upon arrival in Dahej.

Ferry reduces the distance between Ghogha and Dahej in south Gujarat. PM Modi had laid the foundation stone for the project in January 2012. Phase 1 of the 'roll-on, roll-off' ferry service is meant for passengers. PM Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the ferry service which will reduce the distance between Ghogha in the Saurashtra region and Dahej in south Gujarat from 310 kilometers by road to 30 kilometers. From Dahej, the Prime Minister will leave for Vadodara, where PM is scheduled to launch and lay the foundation stone for various developmental and infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 1,140 crores.
