PM Modi inaugurates Bhilai Steel Plant's extension in Chhatisgarh

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 14 (NT): Following a one day visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the modernized extension of Chhattisgarh's Bhilai Steel Plant.

The Prime Minister also held a roadshow in Bhilai prior to his visit to the Steel Plant, while he also inaugurated the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Naya Raipur.

During his address he asserted that modern steel plant is an initiative towards the new India.

“Bhilai did not only make steel, but also lives and society and the country. This new modern steel plant will now help develop new India”, PM Narendra Modi said in Chhattisgarh

Earlier where there were no roads, now airports are being constructed along with roads: PM Narendra Modi in Bhilai noted.

After having this plant Naya Raipur has become the country's first Greenfield smart city. Water, electricity, street lights, sewage, transport and security of the city all will be managed from this centre.

PM Modi also added that this will be an example for smart cities across the country.

Worth mention here this is Prime Minister Modi's second visit to Chhattisgarh in the last two months.

Modi’s visit comes ahead of the assembly elections which is scheduled to be held in the state later this year. (NT)
