PM Modi inaugurates Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, MOUs worth Rs30-Lakh-Cr signed

The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit  was inaugurated in Jaipur on Monday, 9 December, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi opening the event.  The State Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma shared exciting news, revealing that MoUs worth a staggering Rs 30 lakh crore had been signed.

Held in the heart of Rajasthan’s capital, the summit aims to boost the state's economy and attract global investments. During the opening ceremony, PM Modi was presented with a special sword made of sandalwood by CM Sharma, featuring engravings of six significant incidents from Maharana Pratap’s life.

In his address to attendees, Chief Minister Sharma outlined the state’s ambitious goal to double its economy over the next five years. He emphasized that the summit would serve as a crucial step toward achieving both a developed Rajasthan and a developed India. As part of the state’s efforts, capital expenditure has been increased by 65% in the current budget.

Addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Council on Sunday, CM Sharma also highlighted that the MoUs signed during the summit reflect growing investor confidence in the state. This marks a significant achievement for Rajasthan's future growth.

CM Sharma has also announced that the state’s investment policy has undergone major updates to further encourage investments. Alongside the introduction of the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS-2024), nine more policies were launched on 4 December to streamline the investment process and foster growth.

After the conclusion of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, a one-way traffic route from the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) to India Gate will remain operational, even during the evening hours. This new arrangement is part of the enhanced traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement in the city following the event.

In addition, during the movement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy, traffic will be temporarily halted on Tonk Road. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to avoid delays and ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Authorities have urged the public to stay informed about these changes to minimize inconvenience and follow the updated traffic guidelines.
