NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday about the Bhagalpur blast, saying that the government is working on relief and rescue efforts. He expressed his sorrow for the deaths in the tragedy on Twitter, writing: "The news of a death due to an explosion in Bhagalpur, Bihar, is heartbreaking. I wish the injured person a quick recovery." The state administration is providing all possible help to the victims, according to PM Modi. A massive explosion at a structure in Kajvalichak area, Tatarpur police station, Bhagalpur district, killed at least four persons and injured seven others late on March 3 night. The injured were taken to a local hospital in Mayaganj. According to district officials, the explosion occurred when illegal firecrackers were being made, resulting in the three stories being reduced to rubble and the adjacent buildings being damaged. With the help of a JCB equipment, the rubble is being removed. The state of Bihar has launched an investigation into the incident.
