MUNICH: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a short visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after attending the G7 Summit in Germany, where he had meetings with several world leaders. The Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, "PM @narendramodi concludes his visit to Germany for the G7 Summit, finishing up two productive days of deliberations on sustainable solutions to global concerns, PM Modi today embarks for Abu Dhabi for a brief layover before reaching New Delhi." In the UAE, the Prime Minister will convey his personal condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ex-UAE President and Abu Dhabi ruler. Zayed Al Nahyan, who had been in office since 2004, passed away at the age of 73 after a long illness on May 13. PM Modi had expressed grief over his death, praising him as a great statesman and a forward-thinking leader who fostered the development of India-UAE relations. "I'm leaving Germany following a fruitful visit, during which I attended the @G7 Summit, spoke with a number of world leaders, and took part in a special community programme in Munich. We were able to talk about a lot of topics that will increase wealth and global well-being," Modi said in a tweet.
