PM Modi met Kamala Harris, discussed these crucial issues

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to the US. He recently met US Vice President Kamala Harris there. In the bilateral discussions, the leaders of the two countries discussed a number of issues. Recalling the phone conversation in June 2021, the leaders of the two countries discussed recent global development issues including Afghanistan and expressed their commitment to the Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi also invited Kamala Harris to visit India after a solitary meeting and delegation-level meeting.

During the interaction, Vice President Kamala Harris also raised the issue of terrorism with PM Modi. She categorically said that there are many terrorist organizations active (on Pakistani soil) and in this regard, she has also asked Pakistan to take action against them so that the security of the US and India is not affected. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, "When the issue of terrorism came up, the Vice President herself mentioned Pakistan's role in the matter (terrorism). According to Shringla, Harris said terrorist organisations are being operated in Pakistan.''

On Kamala Harris becoming vice-president, PM Modi said, "Your election as vice president of the US has been a very important and historic event. You are a source of inspiration for many people all over the world and I am sure that President Joe Biden and our bilateral relations under your leadership will go to new heights. PM Modi invites Kamala Harris to visit India.'' PM also said, "The people of India are waiting to welcome you.''
