The event, which included global leaders, saw the raising of $1.7 billion for the WHO’s initiatives. During the summit, world leaders pledged to address inequalities and committed to building a fairer, more sustainable world. They also underscored the WHO’s pivotal role in global health governance, emphasizing the necessity for stable and transparent financing. The WHO Investment Round received strong backing from the leaders, with a focus on securing additional funding for the organisation’s programs. Dr. Ghebreyesus tweeted, "Investment in @WHO is an investment in global health security." According to the WHO, the funding initiative has reached $3.8 billion out of the $7.1 billion goal, which will support the 14th General Programme of Work. This program aims to save 40 million lives over the next four years, marking a significant milestone in the fight for global health.
