PM Modi seeks his mother's blessing before casting his vote; Amit Shah Contesting Constituency

New Delhi: On Tuesday, voting started across 117 Lok Sabha seats spread over 13 states and 2 Union Territories. People in 13 states and two Union Territories have started to queue up to cast their ballots in Phase 3 of election 2019. Voting also kicked off in Tripura East, which was scheduled to take place in Phase 2 of polling on April 18; however, the Election Commission had deferred it to the third phase citing security concerns. Here it is to be noted that this is the biggest phase as it covers 117 Lok Sabha seats in a single phase of seven-phased Lok Sabha election 2019. More than 18 crore 85 lakh voters will seal the fate of 1,640 candidates. Over 2.10 lakh polling booths have been created for smooth conduct of polls. BJP chief Amit Shah will accompany PM Narendra Modi. Notably, Shah is contesting Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from Gandhinagar constituency. The BJP chief is waiting for the PM near the polling booth at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at his mother's place to take her blessings. He will, in a while, leave to cast his vote at Ranip in Ahmedabad.

However, it is worth mention here that besides Rahul Gandhi and Amit Shah, some of the other prominent candidates in this phase are Union ministers Jaswantsinh Bhabhor (Dahod-Gujarat), Shripad Naik (North Goa), Alphons Kannamthanam (Ernakulam-Kerala), Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and former Governor and BJP nominee Kummanam Rajasekharan (Thiruvananthapuram-Kerala), Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav (Mainpuri-Uttar Pradesh), and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal (Dhubri-Assam). Voting has started for 116 Lok Sabha seats.
