PM Modi to Address PM SVANidhi Beneficiaries in Delhi Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak to recipients of the PM SVANidhi scheme at JLN Stadium in Delhi on Thursday. The scheme, aimed at supporting street vendors, will see PM Modi distributing loans to 100,000 vendors, including 5,000 from Delhi.

This initiative, launched on June 1, 2020, amidst the global economic downturn caused by the pandemic, aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of providing economic aid to marginalized communities. It has had a significant impact, providing over 82 lakh loans totaling more than Rs 10,978 crore to 62 lakh street vendors nationwide. In Delhi alone, nearly 2 lakh loans amounting to Rs 232 crore have been distributed.

The scheme remains pivotal in promoting financial inclusion and overall welfare for historically underserved groups.

Additionally, during the event, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for two new corridors of Delhi Metro's Phase 4. These corridors, spanning over 20 km in total, are expected to enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion.

The Lajpat Nagar - Saket-G Block corridor will include stations such as Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, and Greater Kailash - 1, among others. Meanwhile, the Inderlok - Indraprastha corridor will feature stations like Inderlok, Daya Basti, and New Delhi, aiming to further streamline transportation in the capital.
