New Delhi [India], Nov.03: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday inaugurate an international jumbo food expo, 'World Food India' 2017 in New Delhi from Vigyan Bhavan. The event organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries under the leadership of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. She will welcome all global investors and business leaders of major food companies from November 3 to 5 in New Delhi. The Prime Minister will also see the Food Street at India Gate Lawns opposite National stadium after the inauguration from Vigyan Bhavan At the inaugural, Chief Ministers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh will be joined to Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal along with Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti Ministerial delegations from a number of countries, leading global and Domestic CEOs will also make their presence in the inaugural session. World Food India intends to transform food economy and recognizes the vision of doubling of farmers' income to establish India as the preferable investment destination and sourcing hub for the international food processing industry. "World Food India platform will make stronger India's position as a global food industrial unit and is a positive step towards making the nation food secure. India is likely to attract an investment of $10 billion in food processing division and make one million jobs in the upcoming three years," an official statement quoted. This is the first time that India is hosting such a mega event for the food processing industry at global level.
