New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will release the Hindi translation of the book 'Odisha History' written by 'Utkal Kesari' Harekrishna Mahatab on Friday i.e. 9th April. According to a statement issued by the PM's office, Prime Minister Modi will release this book due to an event being organized by the Harekrishna Mahtab Foundation at the Ambedkar International Center. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Biju Janata Dal MP Bhartrihari Mahtab from Cuttack will also be present on the occasion. 'Odisha History' Dr. Harekrishna is one of the most liked books of Mahtab. This book is already present in Oriya and English and has been translated by Shankarlal Purohit. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi launched the Kindle version of Swami Chidbhavanandji's Bhagavad Gita in March and 11 volumes of the manuscript containing 21 scholarly commentaries on the verses of Bhagavad Gita earlier. Harekrishna Mahtab was a freedom fighter and was also the first CM of Odisha. He was the CM of Odisha from 1946 to 1950. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly and one of the prominent politicians of the Indian National Congress. He is popularly known as 'Utkal Kesari'. He left his studies midway to join the freedom movement. He remained in Ahmednagar Fort jail for almost two years from 1942 to 1945 and due to this he wrote this book based on the history of Odisha and published the Odia edition of 'Odisha History' in the year 1948.
