PM Modi to Unveil Massive National Highway Projects Worth Rs. 1 Trillion

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, amid his extensive tour spanning 12 states in just 10 days, is scheduled to arrive in Gurugram, Haryana, today. The prime focus of his visit will be the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for 112 National Highway projects across India, collectively valued at approximately Rs. 1 trillion.

Aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram via NH-48, PM Modi will inaugurate the Haryana segment of the prominent Dwarka Expressway. This 19-kilometer stretch, built at a cost of around Rs. 4,100 crore, encompasses two sections: a 10.2-kilometer Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and an 8.7-kilometer Basai ROB to Kherki Daula stretch. Notably, this expressway will offer direct access to Delhi's IGI Airport and the Gurugram Bypass.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will unveil several other noteworthy projects:

The 9.6-kilometer six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) Package 3, linking Nangloi to Sector 24 Dwarka in Delhi. Three segments of the Lucknow Ring Road, developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 4,600 crore in Uttar Pradesh. The Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, costing approximately Rs. 2,950 crore. The Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, with investments totaling around Rs. 3,400 crore. The Dobaspet-Heskote section in Karnataka, comprising two packages valued at Rs. 2,750 crore. Moreover, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for various National Highway ventures nationwide.

These include:

14 segments of the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, amounting to Rs. 14,000 crore. Six sections of the Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur NH-748A in Karnataka, with investments worth Rs. 8,000 crore. Three segments of the Shamli-Ambala Highway in Haryana, valued at Rs. 4,900 crore.

Two packages of the Amritsar-Bathinda corridor in Punjab, totaling Rs. 3,800 crore. In total, these projects are anticipated to significantly bolster the National Highway infrastructure, fostering socio-economic development, generating employment opportunities, and stimulating trade and commerce across various regions of the country, as stated by the PMO.
