Mann Ki Baat Live: PM Modi salutes the farmers of the country

New Delhi: PM Modi is addressing the country for the 68th time through 'Mann Ki Baat' program on radio. During this time, PM Modi started his speech by greeting the countrymen. PM Modi said that friends, these days the festival of Onam is also being celebrated with great pomp. This festival comes in the month of Chingam. During this time people buy something new, decorate their homes, make Pokklam, enjoy Onam-Sadiya, there are various sports and competitions.

He said that Onam's boom, today, has reached far and wide abroad. Be it America, Europe, or Gulf countries, Onam's euphoria will be found everywhere. Onam is becoming an International Festival. Talking about farmers, PM Modi said that our life, our society runs only with the power of farmers. Our festivals are colorful due to the hard work of the farmers. PM Modi also said a verse from the Rigveda, 'Annanam patye namah, kshetramana patye namah which means bows to farmers.

PM Modi said, "This time the sowing of kharif crop has been 7 per cent more than last year. I congratulate the farmers of the country for this, and salute their hard work".
