PM Modi expresses grief over death of legendary footballer Diego Maradona

New Delhi: Argentina's legendary footballer Diego Maradona has died due to a heart attack. He also underwent brain surgery this month. There was a problem of blood clotting in his brain, after which this surgery was done. Maradona is loved by children all over the world. He is primarily remembered for his significant contribution to Argentina's victory in the 1986 World Cup.

PM Modi has expressed grief over the untimely demise of football player Diego Maradona. Tweeting from his official Twitter handle, PM Narendra Modi wrote, 'Diego Maradona was a football expert who enjoyed global popularity. '

PM Modi further wrote, 'Throughout his career, he gave us some great sports moments on the football field. His untimely demise has made all of us sad. May his soul rest in peace.'
