New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today digitally inaugurated the two-day 'National Mayors' Conference' to be held in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. At the same time, he said that 'all of you are welcome and greeted in the National Mayor's Conference. This conference has a big role to play in preparing a road map of India's urban development for the next 25 years during the elixir of independence.' Simultaneously, while addressing the National Mayors' Conference in Gandhinagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, 'The work done by Sardar Patel in the municipality is still remembered with great respect. You also have to take your cities to a level where future generations will remember you.' Apart from this, he said, 'The citizens of our country have placed faith in the BJP for the development of cities for a very long time. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain it continuously, and increase it.' He further said 'Our mantra is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. The ideological pattern that the BJP has adopted, is what sets our model apart from others.' Along with this, the Prime Minister also said 'If the relation of common citizen comes from any system called government, then it comes from Panchayat, comes from Nagar Panchayat, comes from Municipality, comes from Municipal Corporation. Hence the importance of such discussions increases.' At the same time, the Prime Minister also said that 'Till 2014, the metro network in our country was less than 250 km. Today the metro network in the country is more than 775 km. People come to the cities on a temporary basis for livelihood, they get a house on reasonable rent, and for this, work is going on on a large scale. I request all of you to speed up this campaign in your respective cities. Get the tasks done fast and never let the quality get compromised.' Apart from this, PM Modi also said 'As the mayor of BJP, as the head of the cities, you have more responsibility to make the real estate sector better and transparent. Our priority should be to ensure that the rules are followed.' He further said that the thinking of the elected representatives should not be limited keeping in mind the elections only. We cannot do any good to the city with election-centric thinking.' At the same time, BJP President JP Nadda said in the program, 'We have come in politics, we have not come only to sit on the throne, we have not come to sit in power. Power is the medium for us, the goal is service.' Can the ideas of young people be used to improve a failing global education system?
