PM Modi meets family of late leader Arun Jaitley, expresses condolences

New Delhi: On his return from a three-nation foreign trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi first arrived at his residence to meet the family of the late Arun Jaitley. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present along with PM Modi. PM Modi met Sangeeta, son Rohan and daughter of late leader Arun Jaitley. First of all, PM Modi paid floral tributes to Arun Jaitley by laying a wreath at him. Afterwards, PM Modi sat down with Jaitley's family for a while and shared his grief.

It may be mentioned that PM Modi could not attend his funeral as he was on a foreign tour at the time of Arun Jaitley's demise. However, PM Modi had a phone conversation with Jaitley's family. Prime Minister Modi had expressed deep sorrow over the phone talking to Arun Jaitley's wife and son. Arun Jaitley's family had urged PM Modi not to cancel his foreign tour. Later, PM Modi was also to visit Bahrain and France. Prime Minister Modi returned home this morning from a three-nation foreign tour.

Jaitley's death was reported to PM Modi in the UAE. Describing Arun Jaitley's demise as a huge loss, he said that a friend had left his life. Prime Minister Modi had said that Arun Jaitley has a significant contribution to nation-building. I've lost my friend. Prime Minister Modi said, Jaitleyji has played a number of important responsibilities. We will always miss them.
