New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today paid a heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on the occasion of Farmers Day, saying that his dedication to farmers will always be remembered. Let us tell you that in the year 2001, in the honour of Chaudhary Charan Singh, the Government of India announced to celebrate December 23 every year as Farmers Day. PM Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle saying that a humble tribute to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji on his birth anniversary. He remained devoted to the development of villages and farmers throughout his life, for which he will always be remembered. Chaudhary Charan Singh was born on 23 December. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Kisan Diwas in the country. PM Modi further said that he had started many policies to improve the lives and conditions of farmers. Explain that the Government of India had decided to celebrate December 23 every year as Farmers Day in honour of Chaudhary Charan Singh in the year 2001. After which every year this day is being celebrated as Farmers Day with great pomp.
