Kolkata: PM Narendra Modi has reached Kolkata on Saturday on a two-day visit to West Bengal. PM Modi was welcomed at the airport by West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and the Mayor of Kolkata and Bengal's Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Firhad Khan. Due to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the student organization Students Federation of India (SFI) has protested against PM Modi's visit to Kolkata.

PM Modi will participate in the 150th-anniversary celebration and many events of Kolkata Port Trust. Along with this, he will also dedicate the 4 historic buildings that have been renovated to the nation. PM Modi has reached the 2-day West Bengal tour on Saturday amid protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Prior to his visit, PM Modi tweeted and wrote, 'I am very excited to be in West Bengal today and tomorrow. I am happy to spend time in Ramakrishna Mission and that too when we are celebrating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.'

PM Modi further wrote, "There is a special place in relation to that place." He further wrote, "Still there will be something missing." He wrote, "The venerable Swami Atmasthanandji will not be there. He taught me the principle of treating public service as Lord Service. It is unthinkable in his absence in Ramakrishna Mission."
