New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Friday assured the country's daughters that the government will set the right age for marriage at the earliest as the concerned committee will submit its report. PM Modi, during a function to release a commemorative coin of Rs 75 to mark the 75th anniversary of India's long-standing relationship with the Food and Agriculture Organization, said that the churning continues to determine the right age for the marriage of our daughters. PM Modi said that daughters from all over the country have asked me why the concerned Committee has not yet submitted its report. I assure you that the Government will take action as soon as the report comes. He also briefed about the steps taken by his Government towards maintenance of women's health and hygiene. PM Modi said that we are taking appropriate steps in the interest of our daughters. Through the Water Life Mission, work is going on to provide water to every household. We are providing sanitary pads for Rs. 1. The central government had said on September 22 that a task force has been constituted to set a proper age of marriage and pregnancy.
