PM Modi will inaugurate 'Khelo India Winter Games' in Gulmarg today

Srinagar: The Khelo India-Winter Games 2021 is commencing from today in Gulmarg, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate these games today. PM Modi will inaugurate it today at 11.50 am. State Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju will also be present at the inauguration ceremony.

The four-day competition is being organized by the Ministry of Youth Services and Sports and the J&K Sports Council. The second edition of Khelo India Winter Games is going to be held from 26 February to 2 March. On this occasion, PM Modi will also address the players and coaches present there. The festival, which lasts for 5 days, will involve around 1200 players from various states and union territories of the country. The Khelo India-Winter Games are being held for the second time in a row at the world famous ski resort.

These sports mainly include snow shoe races, ice skating, ice hockey, skiing, noradic sky, snowboarding, sky mountaineering and IS stock. Apart from states and union territories, athletes from the Indian Army and Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering will also participate in the Winter Games. It is organized in association with Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and Jammu and Kashmir Winter Games Association.
