India to become 'self-reliant' in security, Modi's big gift to Jhansi

New Delhi: The defence policy of the country is witnessing a major change. It is no longer in the mood to fight the war with the help of other people's belongings and weapons. Its entire focus is on increasing capacity. It can be seen in Jhansi. The Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government are celebrating the National Defence Dedication Festival here. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Arms Exhibition here on Wednesday. PM Narendra Modi will arrive in Jhansi on the last day of the three-day exhibition from November 17 to 19. Meanwhile, PM Modi will formally hand over drones to the Army, advanced electronic warfare suits to the Navy and LCH (Light Combat Helicopters) to the Air Force.

In fact, 40 light combat helicopters are to be taken from HAL for the Air Force and PM Modi will hand over its model to the Air Force in Jhansi. The helicopter is a twin-engine and is capable of takeoff with payloads even from an altitude of 16,400 feet. Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar said that the Defence Ministry and the Uttar Pradesh government are jointly organizing the Rashtriya Raksha Samarthan Parv from 17th to 19th November. It will have a number of cultural programmes, Jhansi will have Jalsa for three days and on November 19 PM Modi will dedicate several schemes from the premises of Jhansi Fort to the country.

100 new Sainik schools are going to be opened in the country, in which girls along with boys will be able to take admission and these Sainik schools will also have day scholars. PM Modi will also dedicate the scheme of these schools to the nation. NCC will also start it as the first member of the Alumni Association. More simulators will be available for the training of NCC cadets. Schools in border areas where NCC have been launched will be discussed. PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the first project at the Jhansi node of the defence corridor. The 400 crore project will have an anti-tank guided missile propulsion system.
