New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has transferred Rs 18,000 crore of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman fund (PM Kisan) instalment to the accounts of nearly 9 crore farmers in a programme organised through video conferencing on Friday. PM Narendra Modi then interacted with farmers from several states after releasing the next instalment of PM Samman Fund. 2-2 thousand rupees have been transferred to each farmer's account through online. Earlier, launching the Kisan Samvad on the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has sought an end to protests with agitating farmers and talks with the government. Tomar said that a few farmers in Punjab are confused and agitating against the new agricultural laws. He said farmers should understand the crux of the new laws. Tomar said that under PM Modi's leadership, several concrete steps have been taken for the betterment of farmers, one of them is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Tomar further said that in just two hours, 18,000 crore rupees have been sent directly to the accounts of 9 crore farmers as PM Kisan Samman Fund. He said farmers from all states except West Bengal are taking advantage of the scheme. There are about 70 lakh farmers in Bengal who have to transfer Rs 4200 crore, but the Bengal government has not taken any decision.
