Protests against Pakistan and China in PoK, people take to the streets against this project

Gilgit: Voices against China are beginning to be loud in different parts of the world. In Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), hundreds of people protested against China on Monday and accused the Pakistani government of colluding with it. Here in Muzaffarabad people are opposing a dam project being jointly created by China and Pakistan.

The Pakistani government is building a dam with assistance from China near the Jhelum and Neelam rivers in Muzaffarabad. But the residents of Muzaffarabad say that they have no information regarding this, nor were they asked anything. The residents of PoK alleged that the Pakistani government has made a deal to build these dams with China for money only, in which the people of PoK have no benefit nor their advice has been taken.

Let us tell you that this is not the first time that a voice has been raised against Pakistan and China in PoK. Even before this, people of PoK have been opposing the One Belt One Road (OBOR) project being made by China. In fact, the way China has been isolated in the world after the Corona crisis and the subsequent conflict with India has brought many big countries against it. This has created a stir in Pakistan. Pakistan's Foreign Department has submitted a report to PM Imran Khan, in which he has asked to consider Pakistan's China policy.
