Chennai, At Chennai Airport, from a passenger bound for Sri Lanka, unaccounted currency of worth Rs. 39.97 lakh has been seized.
According to police officials, "customs officials intercepted the passenger bound for Colombo late last night and seized the currency from his baggage".
Police detained the passenger, hailing from Ramanathapuram for questioning.
Further investigation were on, said police.
