Former Chief Minister and TDP National President Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to AP DGP Gautam Sawang saying that false allegations of illegal detention and arrest against TDP leaders are not good. He questioned how Chintamaneni would be arrested for protesting the hike in petrol and diesel prices. "He was arrested in an undemocratic manner while attending a wedding function in Visakhapatnam," Naidu said. Chandrababu said, "The focus of the police is on making false allegations against TDP leaders, murders and rapes take place daily in the state, people of the state are living in constant fear and insecurity." The former chief minister demanded that the false cases against TDP leaders be withdrawn immediately. It is a known fact that the former MLA from Denduluru was arrested for protesting against the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel. Police said that the former MLA violated the rules.
