PPP model will play an important role in Five trillion dollar economy

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model will have a very important role in the budget leading to the new economy. Whether it is about basic development in agriculture or issues of concern like health and education, participation of PPP model, the government has targeted to provide better service and facilities to the public. Private sector participation has been kept in various schemes present in the budget presented on February 1 and opportunities have been taken out for them, whether it is infrastructure project pipeline or agricultural development. It was not able to be commercially viable. At the same time, due to lack of money many times the plans were stretched. The public could not get the benefit that they needed immediately. Apart from this, there is also difficulty in maintenance. These difficulties are beginning to be overcome in the PPP model. In view of this role of PPP model in development, the Modi government constituted a Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee.

The task of the five-member committee, headed by the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, is to see that costly projects that are finished in the long term do not get unnecessarily stuck. They may be allowed soon if the standard is met. International standard should be followed in the planning and construction of the project and there should be uniform policy for similar projects. Apart from this, there is no shortage of funds in the project, the committee also takes care of it. If there is a shortage of funds, it also arranges for it. The effect of forming the same appraisal committee was also shown. From the financial year 2014-15 to 2018-19, the committee recommended 56 projects worth Rs 87,278 crore. It had 43 roads, three ports and ports and one residential and tourism sector project each. During the year 2019-20 also, the committee recommended eight projects (development of four railway stations, two eco-tourism, one port and passenger train) worth Rs 27514 crore.

Apart from this, these projects of PPP model gave a boost to economic growth and development, while the opportunities for private sector increased the chances of employment. Apart from this, in order to further increase the scope of this benefit, in the budget of financial year 2020-21, all the opportunities for the private sector have been increased. There are several schemes in which the PPP model has a major role. The same will be done with PPP model in these areas at the work-development block / taluka level, construction of a storage house with the help of the state government for the transportation of perishable agricultural produce, such as milk, fish, meat, Farmers Rail Construction of hospitals in every district. , Medical College can be attached to every Government District Hospital Center-State with Economic Corridor, five facilities offering technology according to manufacturing activities and demand Development of Mart cities; Construction of solar park on the vacant rail land along the railway line; Re-development of four stations; Operation of 150 passenger trains; Creating riverfront river basins in the Gangetic states; Promoting economic activities including tourism, eco-tourism throughout the country.
