New Delhi: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has attacked Congress on the TRP matter. Information Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "The free press is the hallmark of our democracy and the ideals provided by the Constitution. Trying to crush the freedom of media will not be tolerated by the people of India. It is unacceptable." BJP national president JP Nadda has also accused the Congress of suppressing the voice of the media on the TRP case. He wrote in a tweet that, "Shooting Messenger is the art of Congress. His colleagues have mastered this. Even after the Emergency, they have no regrets. Attack on news channels and attacks on media freedom will never be tolerated by the people of India". The commissioner of the Mumbai Police has busted the gang that manipulated the TRP ratings. Two people have been arrested in this regard and three channels including Republic TV are under investigation. So far this investigation is limited to Mumbai. Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh said in the investigation it has been found that some people who are involved in this racket are from outside Mumbai.
