Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: Preparations are currently in full swing in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, as the city gears up for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 23. The Prime Minister is scheduled to partake in the 'Braj Raj Utsav' in Mathura on Thursday, where he will witness a presentation by Hema Malini, the Member of Parliament representing Mathura, commemorating the birth anniversary of Meera Bai, the revered 16th-century mystic poet and devotee of Lord Krishna. During his visit, PM Modi plans to pay homage at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Banke Bihari Temple by offering prayers. Ahead of his arrival, Mathura's Municipal Commissioner, Shashank Chaudhary, revealed that a specialized cleanliness campaign is underway in the city. Efforts include extensive sweeping, enhancing horticulture, and implementing measures like water sprinkling to improve the city's Air Quality Index (AQI). Additionally, the city is being adorned with illuminations for the occasion. The festivities surrounding the birth anniversary of Sant Mirabai will be a prominent feature of the 'Braj Raj Utsav' from November 23 to 25. On Thursday, a captivating dance drama depicting the life of Meera Ji will unfold at the Railway Ground Fair, graced by the Prime Minister. Moreover, a national seminar focusing on Mirabai is set to take place on November 24 and 25 at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on the Veterinary University campus. Distinguished scholars from across the country have been invited to share their insights during this event. In honor of Mirabai's birth anniversary, the UP Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad has arranged a screening of the 1979 film 'Meera,' featuring Hema Malini, at Rupam Talkies on November 24. Additionally, the 1947 film 'Meera,' starring Shubhalakshmi, will also be showcased on November 25.
