On the holy day of Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary, President Murmu also sent her warmest greetings to nation's residents and Indians living overseas. The President's statement included the following: "On the holy occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary, I express my heartiest greetings to all fellow citizens and Indians settled abroad, especially the brothers and sisters of the Sikh community." She continued by stating that everyone should follow the teachings of "Japji Sahib" and adopt timeless virtues like honesty, selflessness, and moral conduct. "The idea of "Ek Omkar," which indicates that God is one and present everywhere, was propagated by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He motivated us to live lives of fraternity, unity, and love. We should follow the teachings of "Japji Sahib" and adopt timeless principles like honesty, selflessness, and moral behaviour. The teachings of "Kirat Karo" and "Vade Chhako" encourage us to live honestly and give away our resources to those in need. The holy festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti, commonly referred to as Gurpurab, commemorates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev, the first guru of Sikhism. Every year, the auspicious occasion is marked on the full moon day of the Kartik month, also known as Kartik Purnima. It is also known as Parkash Utsav. Guru Nanak Dev was a man of peace who spent his entire life promoting equality and tolerance. He had been devoted to the Divine since he was a young child. He was born in 1469 in the village of Rai Bhoi di Talwandi, now called Nankana Sahib, close to Lahore in modern-day Pakistan. Numerous hymns written by Guru Nanak were compiled by Guru Arjan into the Adi Granth. He travelled around India, visiting holy places. The primary verses of the Guru Granth Sahib focus on the idea that there is only one creator of the universe. He also promotes altruistic service to humanity in his words.
