On the Birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore today the President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. On the occasion at the Bhawan Officers and staff were also present. Earlier in the day the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi by tweeting on Twitter recalled him. President Mukherjee wrote 'Gurudev was the perfect ambassador of our country at a time when little was known about India in the outside world #PresidentMukherjee' In a world fettered by race, creed & colour, Gurudev Tagore promoted internationalism for a new world order #PresidentMukherjee, he added. In the last tweet, he wrote 'Let us use this occasion to draw inspiration from Tagore’s idea of oneness of humanity #PresidentMukherjee' PM Modi wrote 'Gurudev Tagore will always be remembered for his powerful thoughts & contribution to the freedom movement.
