President Droupadi Murmu is set to confer the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to 17 exceptional children from 14 states and Union Territories on Thursday, December 26. This annual award, organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, recognizes outstanding achievements of India's youth in various fields.

Recognizing Excellence Across Diverse Categories

The award celebrates excellence in seven key categories: art and culture, bravery, innovation, science and technology, social service, sports, and environment. This year's honorees include seven boys and 10 girls, who will each receive a medal, a certificate, and a citation booklet as a mark of recognition for their contributions and achievements.

Nationwide Celebrations of Veer Bal Diwas

Coinciding with the awards, the nation will also observe Veer Bal Diwas, featuring activities aimed at showcasing the potential and achievements of India's younger generation. The centerpiece of the celebrations will take place at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, with approximately 3,500 children, including the awardees, in attendance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event, launching the Suposhit Panchayat Scheme, which seeks to enhance nutritional security at the grassroots level. The day will also include a march-past by children representing India's rich cultural diversity, highlighting the unity and vibrancy of the nation.

Engaging the Youth Through Creativity

Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, will deliver the opening address at the event. Cultural performances reflecting India's heritage will be a major highlight. Across the country, schools, childcare institutions, and Anganwadi centers will organize activities such as storytelling sessions, creative writing competitions, poster-making, essay writing, poetry recitals, and quizzes. Online platforms like MyGov and MYBharat will facilitate widespread participation to engage children nationwide.

A Commitment to Nurturing Young Talent

Veer Bal Diwas and the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar aim to inspire young Indians to contribute to national progress while upholding values of courage, innovation, and service. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to empowering the next generation and fostering a culture of excellence.

Through programs like the Suposhit Panchayat Scheme, the Ministry of Women and Child Development reaffirms its dedication to nurturing the potential of India's youth, enabling them to build a brighter and more innovative future.
