New Delhi: Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu filed her nomination on Friday from the BJP-led coalition NDA. During this, many veteran leaders of BJP including PM Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah were present. In Draupadi Murmu's nomination, PM Modi became the proposer while Rajnath Singh became her seconder. At the same time, NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has sought support from Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. Draupadi Murmu spoke to Mamata Banerjee over phone and urged her to support her candidature. Along with this, Draupadi Murmu also spoke to Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar over phone and requested them to support her candidature in the presidential election. According to media reports, all three leaders including Mamta Banerjee have wished Murmu. However, Mamata Banerjee did not react to her support in the presidential election. Let us tell you that the voting for the post of President is going to be held on 18 July. If elected, Murmu will be the first tribal and second woman president of the country.
