The 78 yaers old and a veteran actor Manoj Kumar who played patriotic Indian role in most of his films will be awarded by the honorable Dada Saheb Phalke Award.According to an official announcement Monoj Kumar will be 47thh recipient of the award, which consist of a golden lotus, a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh and a shawl. Bharat Kumar was recommended by a five member jury comprising Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Salim Khan, Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Jalota. Kumar’s best known for his films like Who Koun Thi/, Himalaya ki God Mein, Hariyali aur Raasta, Upkar, Do Badan, Patthar Ke Sanam, Purab Aur Paschim, Shaheed, Roti kapda Aur Makaan, Kranti. Manoj Kumar was also honored with Padma Shri by the government of India in 1992 and even won a National Film Award for Upkaar.
