Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi rallied support for Jitin Prasada, the BJP's candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, during an event in Pilibhit on Tuesday. Addressing a large crowd in Pilibhit, PM Modi urged citizens to back Jitin Prasada, who is also the Public Works Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Jitin Prasada took to his social media handle to express gratitude for PM Modi's presence at the event, stating that the Prime Minister's visit energized both the party and the people. PM Modi emphasized the importance of maximum voter turnout in the upcoming elections, urging the citizens to ensure the victory of the BJP symbol, the lotus, in both Pilibhit and at the national level. Reflecting on PM Modi's blessings, Jitin Prasada highlighted the strengthened resolve of party workers, particularly on the occasion of Navratri, a festival symbolizing devotion and fasting. Speaking to ANI, Jitin Prasada described PM Modi's visit as historic, noting the significant turnout and the Prime Minister's message to the people. Regarding the impact of Akhilesh Yadav's upcoming rally in Pilibhit, Jitin Prasada dismissed concerns, attributing the opposing party's perspective to the INDI alliance, which he associated with the Muslim League. The Congress has raised objections with the Election Commission over PM Modi's comments, alleging a reflection of the Muslim League's ideology in the BJP's manifesto. This election season sees Jitin Prasada replacing Varun Gandhi as the BJP's candidate in Pilibhit. The constituency is set to vote in the first phase on April 19. Jitin Prasada, formerly a member of the Congress party, joined the BJP in 2021 after serving as a Union Minister in the Congress government.
