Desi Girl, Priyanka received BMC notice for illegal construction

Priyanka Chopra, the Indian actress who gained fame in Hollywood too and recently in controversies due to her rumoured relationship with Singer Nick Jonas have now again in news because of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) Notice that she received for illegal constructions.

The complaint about the illegal and unauthorized constructions in Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon(premises that Priyanka has given on rent) was lodged by its visitors. The complainer also informed about a mezzanine floor that is getting built there despite being an unauthorized construction.

While check BMC found the allegations true and additionally found illegal alterations in an adjacent premise named as Vastu Precinct building which is also owned by the Chopra family. The violations that were noticed there are an unauthorized full-height partition that is getting constructed with ply-sheet and glass walls to make cabins, unauthorized amalgamations, and illegal construction of a mezzanine floor.

BMC has sent two separated notice for both of the premises under which the owner have to stop all illegal construction and have to restore the authorized structure. If they will fail to do the same than for further consequences the premises will be demolished by BMC after a month of legal notice.

While stating the procedure a senior BMC official said: “We earlier wrote, asking them to regularize the unauthorized changes after paying the penalty and remove the other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them the notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply again, we will demolish the illegal constructions at both the premises,”
