Mumbai: Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to lend her voice to the upcoming documentary "Tiger," produced by Disney's studio Disneynature. The film, which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on Earth Day, April 22, promises to unveil the captivating tale of one of the world's most revered creatures - the tiger. "Tiger" will transport viewers into the heart of India's legendary forests, where they will follow the journey of Ambar, a young tigress, as she navigates the challenges of raising her cubs. "In this film, viewers will witness the playful antics of Ambar's cubs as they learn from their wise and protective mother, facing dangers from pythons, bears, and other male tigers," stated Disney in a press release. Directed by Mark Linfield, with Vanessa Berlowitz and Rob Sullivan as co-directors, the film is a collaborative effort of Linfield, Berlowitz, and Roy Conli. "It's an incredible honor to be part of such a meaningful project and to share the story of these magnificent creatures, especially those from my homeland. Tigers have always held a special place in my heart, and I feel a strong connection with Ambar as a protective mother. I believe her journey will resonate deeply with every mother," expressed Chopra Jonas. In conjunction with Earth Day, Disney+ Hotstar will also release "Tigers On The Rise," a companion film narrated by American actor Blair Underwood. This film highlights the remarkable resurgence of tigers worldwide. "The successful rebound of tiger populations has led to new challenges, as these majestic creatures venture beyond forest reserves into human settlements. This poses a significant challenge for both humans and tigers. However, the real heroes of this story are the veterinarians, scientists, and community patrols dedicated to fostering a peaceful coexistence between tigers and people," stated the official description. Directed by Rob Sullivan, co-directed by Alistair Tones, and produced by Sullivan, Vanessa Berlowitz, Mark Linfield, and Roy Conli, "Tigers on the Rise" promises to be a compelling testament to the resilience of nature and human dedication to conservation efforts.
