Priyanka's letter to CM Yogi, writes, 'Your government is doing injustice to weavers'

New Delhi: National General Secretary of Congress Party, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has raised the issue of weavers by writing a letter to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. Priyanka said that it is wrong to not give electricity to the weavers who make the name of Banaras famous in the world, at the flat rate, and harass them for charging the electricity bill at the new rate.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote in her letter, 'The families of the weavers of Banarasi sarees have become fascinated by the grain. Their business has collapsed due to Corona and government policies. The Uttar Pradesh government should help them in this difficult period.' The Congress general secretary further wrote, 'UPA government started the scheme to provide electricity to the weavers at a flat rate in 2006, but your (Yogi) government is doing injustice by scrapping the scheme. When weavers went on strike against arbitrary electricity bill, they were assured to accept the demands, but the problem remains the same.'

Priyanka Gandhi demanded that the scheme to provide power to the weavers at a flat rate should be resumed. The weavers of the weavers should be stopped in the name of fake dues and their electricity connections should not be cut. Those whose power connections have been disconnected should be connected immediately.
