Priyanka tells shocking thing about the film Mary Kom

Priyanka Chopra's movie Mary Kom is one of the best movies of the actress's career. For this movie, Priyanka has looted applause from all sides. But questions have also been raised regarding the casting of Priyanka for the character of boxer Mary Kom in the movie. People said that a North-East female should have been taken for the role of Mary. Now in a recent interview, Priyanka has also accepted this. 

In an interview given to the media, Priyanka has said that- 'When I was playing the character of Mary Kom, I was initially hesitant to take that role because Mary is a living icon and she has also encouraged many female athletes. Plus I don't look like her in any way. She is from North East India and I am from North India, we don't look alike physically.'

Priyanka Chopra has said that she worked hard for 5 months for the role of Mary Kom. 'I have met Mary and have also spent time in her house with her children, husband. I had to take sports training for about 5 months, which was not easy... and to physically transform my body to get into athlete shape. So physically and mentally it was very difficult.'

According to media reports, there were many controversies regarding the casting of Priyanka at the time of the Mary Kom movie release. Mary Kom received the National Award in the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment category. Priyanka was also given Screen Award, Producers Guild Award, Stardust Award and many other honours for her performance.
