CM Channi's gift to public, made this big announcement

Chandigarh: The Congress government led by Charanjeet Singh Channi has cut power tariff by Rs 3 per unit ahead of assembly elections in Punjab. The BJP has shared several announcements of Chief Minister Channi on its official Twitter handle. This includes increased Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees and steps taken for farmers. Chief Minister Channi had already decided to waive off electricity bills for all gaushalas. He had announced that Rs 5 lakh each would be given to all cow shelters for the installation of solar systems.

The chief minister had promised employment to the candidates saying that if the party returns to power, it will give 1 lakh jobs to the candidates within a year and also run a programme to help them go abroad. After launching the Employment Guarantee Scheme (PRAGTY) for youth in a private university, he had stated that youth passing class XII would be eligible for jobs. Jobs will be provided within one year of government formation.

 

 

The Congress party on Saturday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. The names of 86 candidates are included in this list. Elections are proposed in Punjab on February 14. While the counting of votes will take place on March 10. CM Channi of the state will once again be a candidate from Chamkaur Sahib assembly seat. While state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu will contest from Amritsar East. Whereas Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will contest from his current seat Dera Baba Nanak.
