Corona: 'Punjab will not become America' clams CM Amarinder

Due to covid-19, a new stop has been announced in Punjab till 31 August. Under which, in 24 hours, CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday directed to implement Section-144 in the entire state. This has been done to gather more than 5 persons anywhere and ban all the meetings. This will not be applicable in marriage and enjoyment gatherings (funerals). Captain told that we will not allow Punjab to become America.

During his Facebook Live program 'Question to the Captain', he told that if required, more stringent steps will be taken after August 31. He requested all political parties to avoid all the meetings including the dharnas. The Chief Minister said that in case of violation of Section-144, the managers of the prom will be arrested. At the same time, the Chief Minister said that by September 3, cases in Punjab are estimated to reach 64,000 and by September 15 this number will cross one lakh. Apart from this, consultants estimate that by September 3, the number of people who died from covid-19 has reached 1500.

Captain said, "We will not allow Punjab to go towards a situation like America." The Captain said that the number of Corona cases in the state has reached 37,824, which has come from the increase in testing. More cases have been reported from Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Mohali and Bathinda in the coming week. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said on Friday during his Facebook Live program 'Captain Se Saal' that Corona figures are presenting a disappointing picture. He warned that if people do not follow the necessary security measures, the situation will get worse. The Chief Minister said that due to misfortune people are taking it lightly, due to which the government has to take tough steps, some of which have been announced yesterday.
