Punjab: Sidhu and Amarinder's fight Continues for CM's chair

Amritsar: Despite lakhs of attempts by the top Congress leadership, the revolt in the Punjab Congress is not going to stop. Now, Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Sidhu's supporter MLA Surjit Dhiman has launched a front against Captain Amarinder Singh. He has made it clear that he will not contest the 2022 assembly elections under the leadership of captain. He has also demanded that the top leadership should make Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu a CM face.

Congress MLA Dhiman's statement from Amargarh comes at a time when the congress feud had been cold for a long time. Dhiman is considered close to Sidhu. Sidhu and he were also involved in the drive to remove Captain Amarinder Singh from the CM's post. Dhiman has also been among those who met Harish Rawat in Dehradun over the change of leadership. Dhiman has also said that he does not retract what he says.

Though several MLAs have raised their voices from open forums about the change of leadership in the past, the high command has rejected it outright. Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat has also said that everything is not right in Punjab. Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have also tried to resolve the issue.
