PUNJAB: Kejriwal accepts dinner invitation from autorickshaw driver, turns out auto driver is AAP worker

Chandigarh: The Punjab Chief Minister's Office (CMO) made a big statement on Twitter today. According to the announcement, chief minister Charanjeet Singh Channi declared in Ludhiana yesterday that new Registration Certificates (RCs) will be given shortly to protect auto drivers from being harassed. He has also stated that all outstanding challans for auto drivers will be waived.

At the same time, he agreed to auto-rickshaw owners' desire for a yellow line to be drawn just for driving autorickshaws. Chief Minister Charanjeet Singh Channi stated in his declaration that auto drivers must adhere to all traffic laws. "I'm going to solve all of your major problems," he added. Auto drivers are claimed to have been exempted from all previous offences, according to Chief Minister Channi. In reality, the auto drivers had brought the matter of police harassment to Chief Minister Channi's attention.

"The government will issue licenses to auto drivers," Chief Minister Channi stated now. No police officer will approach the vehicle that has this certificate placed. Simultaneously, he has directed vehicle drivers to adhere to all traffic laws. He claims that the district administration would put up a yellow line on the road to guarantee that Auto drivers have no problems.
