Navjot Singh Sidhu arrested in Chandigarh for protesting near governor house

Amritsar: Former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu (Navjot Singh Sidhu) has been arrested by Chandigarh Police for protesting outside the Governor's House over the violence in Lakhimpur. Sidhu was accompanied by several Punjab Congress MLAs and Punjab Youth Congress President Barinder Dhillon.

Sidhu and other leaders accompanying him were protesting against Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar's provocative statement and the arrest of Congress party national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and alleged killings of agitating farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. The leaders who were staging the dharna were demanding the arrest of the Union minister's son on charges of killing farmers.

CM Channi seeks permission to go to Lakhimpur

In Uttar Pradesh, Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi has decided to meet the families of the victims in Lakhimpur following the death of farmers in violence in Lakhimpur Kheri. For this, the Director of Civil Aviation, Government of Punjab has written to Additional Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Avinash Kumar Awasthi asking him to allow cm Channi's helicopter to land in Lakhimpur.
