Sultanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Tuesday that the Purvanchal Express will be the lifeline for development in the state's eastern region. On Tuesday, notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur's Karwal Kheri. The Chief Minister, speaking during the commissioning of the Expressway, said, "Despite the COVID-19 epidemic, Purvanchal Express was finished in three years. It will be the lifeline of Eastern UP's development. Purvanchal's people should be congratulated." As part of a major development drive, the Chief Minister stated that there is an emphasis on general and inclusive 'vikas' across the state. "Other important infrastructure projects are in the pipeline, from the Kanpur metro to the new airport in Kushinagar," he remarked. He went on to say that this is the development path of "New India" under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "A new expressway is being built to connect Bundelkhand. The construction of the Ganga Expressway, which would connect Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, will begin soon. Kanpur's metro system will be operational by the end of next month. Under PM's leadership, a new Metro facility was built in five years, and the state's transportation infrastructure was modernised." He went on to say that until 2017, the state's sole airports were in Lucknow and Varanasi, but that there are now nine fully operational airports in the state, with construction on 11 more underway. The Chief Minister said, "Since independence, Eastern Uttar Pradesh has been consistently neglected. This Purvanchal Expressway will now serve as a significant step in the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh "he said.
