'Put the money and jewelry in the letter box outside the house..', Panic from anonymous letter in Asansol

Kolkata: Anonymous letters have created panic among the people in West Bengal's Asansol district. The case pertains to evening lodge area near Durgapur police commissionerate office. Anonymous threatening letters have been received from the homes of more than 24 officials here. In these letters, two lakh rupees have been demanded from an officer, and jewellery from someone. The letter reads, "Put the money and jewellery in the letter box outside the house. If you don't, be prepared to face the consequences. '

In fact, there are bungalows of more than 100 officers in the evening lodge area of the city. Along with this, adcp central, adcp headquarters, fro office, ib central office are also present along with the office of durgapur police commissionerate. There are strong security arrangements here. Cctv cameras are also installed everywhere in the area. The entire area is under tight police security. Yet, there is an atmosphere of fear in the area due to the receipt of anonymous letters in this way.

However, some officials living in the area have raised their voice over these anonymous letters. A complaint has also been lodged with the Asansol police, on the basis of which the police have also been engaged in investigation. The police believe that the person who sent anonymous letters to the authorities is read, so he is sending the letters in English. At present, the police are planning to nab the accused. The police said that no matter how vicious the accused may be, he will be arrested soon.
