Bhilai: A shocking case has recently come to light from Bhilai. In fact, here a young man set his wife on fire over her character doubts. The woman, who was reportedly engulfed in fire, rushed to the bathroom to save her life and locked herself in the bathroom and sat under the tap. However, by the time the fire was extinguished, she had burned 50 percent. Doctors referred the woman to Raipur for better treatment. On the other hand, police have arrested the accused husband in the case. Briefing about the case, Supela TI said, "Faridnagar resident Sajid Khan reached his house on Thursday afternoon and started quarrelling with his wife accusing her of being characterless. Meanwhile, his wife Naznin Nisha kept explaining to him but he refused. Soon the quarrel between the two escalated and the husband finally got angry and assaulted his wife. Even then, when the matter was not resolved, he took the petrol kept in the house and poured it on him and set it on fire with a match. Shortly thereafter, Nazanin was engulfed in flames and ran inside the bathroom screaming and locked herself from inside and sat under the tap.'' The fire was extinguished, but Nazanin fell unconscious due to excessive burns. Meanwhile, neighbours immediately rushed to Sajid's house and pulled Naznin out of the bathroom and took Him to Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital. Doctors here referred him to Sri Shankaracharya Medical College after first aid but there too the doctors responded. Naznin was finally admitted to the district hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
