New Delhi:- Cinema operator PVR INOX announced Thursday that it will add two more superplexes as part of plans to expand its large format offerings this year. The company has opened a new 12-screen superplex in Bangalore. This superplex has multiple cinema formats, with a total of 158 screens in his 25 cinemas across the city. Over 10 screen superplexes and movie theaters offer a variety of formats and experiences under his one roof in a huge mall with huge floor space. “Bengaluru has always been a special market for us and a place where people are very inclined to go to the cinema. People there watch all kinds of films in multiple languages and genres and it is the highest performing city for us... We are always looking for growth opportunities in Bangalore,” said Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Managing Director of PVR INOX. Asked how many superplexes the company plans to open across India, he said, "We plan to open two more this year, one each in Bengaluru and Pune," adding that the company now has seven superplexes. Bijli said Superplex is changing the world of entertainment with its futuristic cinematic concept and bespoke hospitality. PVR INOX said the addition of its new super complex in Bangalore strengthened its presence in the South with a total of 542 screens in 96 facilities. Also Read:- Indoor Activities for Rainy Days In other news, PVR INOX Co-CEO Gautam Dutta has revealed that he expects the industry's overall revenue to be Rs 10 crore on the first day. 7 billion rupees for Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and 4 billion rupees for a Barbie doll. Both films are expected to hit theaters this Friday and gross a few rupees at the combined box office. During its opening weekend in India (collection Friday to Sunday), Rs 45 billion was raised - Rs 30 crore for Oppenheimer and Rs 15 crore for Barbie. This week after release of the movie Barbie and Oppenheimer the co-CEO of PVR said some assumptions regarding the earnings of the movies on Friday and Saturday.
