After great victory of Team India, Ashwin says 'Turn alone did not give me wickets....'

Chennai: Team India's star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said on Tuesday that he has taken wickets in the second Test match against England not only on the strength of the turn coming from the pitch of Chepak but also with speed and tact. In fact, there has been fierce discussion about the pitch, and former veterans Shane Warne and Michael van Lingen clashed on social media, while England's assistant coach Graham Thorpe described it as challenging.

Ashwin has been chosen Man of the Match for taking eight wickets for 96 runs in the match and scoring a century in India's second innings. He did not give much priority to the ongoing discussion about the pitch. Ashwin has said after ''the victory by 317 runs to Team India that as much as people are predicting sitting outside, I think the ball which was turning more was not getting wickets. This was the mindset of the batsmen, due to which we got wickets.''

They have also said that I have been playing here for years and we took wickets out of speed and trickery. It was very important to keep our intentions strong. Ashwin has said that he enjoyed the match in front of the domestic audience as he was familiar with the domestic situation. They have said that the way the pitch is behaving, each way gives different results.
